Does anyone know the dates for the fair this year? We are planning a trip back there from Japan and would like to attend. Thanks.

The 2005 Lake County Fair dates are Friday, Aug.5 through Sunday, Aug.14. There is a very nice website - www.lake-county-fair.com with more details!

its not that nice of a website. bad color selection bad code (yes I did look at the source code and frontpage 4 does not write good code) sponsor logos cut off, centering of the main content doesn't work for everything, and frames are just bad. It is a wonderful event but the site is not good (Crown Point's official website isn't good either though).

Steve you seem to not like alot of the sites that are posted around here.

thats because they're badly done. Some even fail to comply with the W3C standards that are around to make the internet useful to people with disabilities. For example things like alternate text on images.

I compare the sites related to crown point to other places and find that the midwest as a whole seems to not really have high standards on their image.

What are W3C standards...I never heard of that before?

They're standards for websites that involve accessibility. So people with disabilities can access the sites. They also try to make websites more standardized so that variations in browsers and operating systems don't matter.

The cities website was designed by an IT company and looks like it was mostly done through them so someone with no idea what they were doing could click on the image they wanted and write some new text and it would be replaced. But it could have been done better (and cheaper).

The Fair page just looks bad like it was done by a secretary or something in frontpage.
