Ground Contamination

Postby XX » Wed Jan 11, 2006 1:37 pm

Regarding the site next to the Old Jail...

There has been talk of building next to the Old Jail, but nothing has been mentioned about the ground being contaminated from the gas station and the drycleaning store.

Soil tests will prove the site needs remediation before building any type of structure.

I wonder if potential buyers are aware of how much it would cost to clean the contaminated ground for both the drycleaning store and gas station?

If they intend to put a large building there the contaminated soil would be displaced by basement levels and footings.
