Cloudy Water in Crown Point

Postby XX » Wed Mar 02, 2005 2:16 pm

Why is Crown Point's water so cloudy?

Obviously, it's just oxygen bubbles that clear up after a few minutes, but why does it have to be that way?

I remember a time when the water in Crown Point was always clear, straight from the tap (before we switched to Lake Michigan as a water source).

Is there anything that can be done about this? Or am I the only one with cloudy water in Crown Point?

The bubbles are due to the change in water temperature. Warm water can not hold as much gas as cold water can. The lake experiences a much greater temperature swing than does the ground water. You should notice that this will stop as we move toward the cooler seasons.

i wish my CP water was just cloudy. Due to old pipes in my building, it looks as if you poured a pot of coffee in when the tub is filled! My solution...the gallon water @ Walgreens
